About Me

Hello and thank you for visiting my website to look into my work.

For my day job, I am the Financial Manager for the Johns Hopkins University’s Center for Health Security (CHS), where I handle the department’s day-to-day financial functions including research grant management, non-sponsored account management, guidance for departmental leadership, and leading the finance and administration aspects of the department’s research grant proposals.

However, when my wife decided to get involved in a local brewery by buying in as an owner, I became much more involved in the craft brewing industry in my free time. I quickly learned about the exciting and interesting industry that is craft brewing with a delicate balance of art and science on the technical side, but on a personal level with my finance background, I became very interested in the operations of these small businesses that are deceptively difficult to run.

From there, I completed the Brewing Sciences & Operations graduate certificate at Auburn University before launching into my doctoral studies at West Virginia University as a Doctorate in Business Administration (DBA) candidate. I am expected to graduate in December 2026, and I have focused all my research and studies in the program on the craft brewing industry.

Additionally, I have developed the concept of the Brewery Research for Economic Welfare and Sustainability (BREWS) program as a platform to conduct business-focused research and industry service. Initially, I will be launching this platform here on this website while I search for a university home for the program. At the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS), I am working closely with College of Business faculty to launch a series of professional courses related to these efforts that should be available later in 2026.
